Paul David Maley, 72, of Holmes Beach, Fla., passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012. David was born in Altus on Oct. 22, 1940 to Eldon and Nelda Mae Maley. He graduated from Altus Highschool and attended college in Oklahoma and Texas. David served in the United States Navy where he received medical training as a lab technician. He worked as a lab technician while he attended college at Texas Tech University. His education goal was reached when he received a Master’s Degree in Psychology and became director of the Texas Children’s Home in Lubbock, Texas. He later lived in San Antonio and the Houston area. He loved golf and he loved to read. It was almost impossible to find a book that he had not read.

David is survived by three children, two sons, Kip Maley of Dallas, Texas, and Richard Maley of San Antonio, Texas; and a daughter, Michelle Ellsworth-Smith of Bradenton, Fla.; and five grandchildren. David is also survived by one brother, Jim Maley of Greeley, Colo.; two sisters, Marilyn Kroll of Altus, and Suzie McLeod of San Diego, Calif.

The family is having a celebration of his life on Saturday, Nov. 3 in Bradenton, Fla. with Brown & Sons Funeral Homes in charge. David will be buried in the Altus Cemetery with memorial services by the Rev. David Player, to be held at the Memorial Chapel. The family invites friends and family of Paul David Maley to attend the services at 10 a.m., at the chapel on Saturday, Nov. 10.
