The Walmart Foundation awarded $5,000 to the Jackson County Free Health Clinic for its care of uninsured patients. Sen. Mike Schulz and Rep. Charles Ortega accepted the grant from the Walmart Foundation and presented the gift to Dr. Randy Sheets and David Pickett, co-chairs of the Jackson County Free Health Clinic board of directors. The Jackson County Free Health Clinic provides care to adults who are without Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance and operates two Thursdays a month. The free clinic is staffed entirely by volunteer physicians, pharmacists, nurses and clerical staff. Pictured from left, Sen.
