The Western Oklahoma State College Alumni Association has determined the winners of the 2013 Pioneer Perks Card Blitz Competition. Student representatives from seventeen campus clubs and organizations competed to sell the most Perks Cards during the designated two-week competition period. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three card sellers. Finishing in first place was Kirbi Brooking from the WOSC Aggie Club. In second, representing the WOSC Ambassadors and Phi Theta Kappa, was Ashley Wheeler. Maryanne Dantzler, member of Phi Theta Kappa, WOSC Science Club and Wesley Ministries, took third place. To date, Western’s student clubs have raised over $5,300 in 2013 Pioneer Perks cards sales.
The Pioneer Perks Card Program is organized by the Western Oklahoma State College Alumni Association. Funds raised are distributed directly back to participating student clubs and used to support club activities. The proceeds from the sales of cards also make it possible for the WOSC Alumni Association to fund its many projects, including the WOSC Alumni Hall of Fame Endowment and the WOSC Lifetime Alumni Association Member Recognition Tree.
The 2013 Pioneer Perks Cards are available at the Western Oklahoma State College Development and Alumni Office, Papa Johns (Altus) and Main Express Mart. Cards are valid beginning Jan. 1, 2013 and cost $10. Participating businesses include: All-America in Blair, Fancy Nails, Holder Brothers Beef, Maurice’s, Robert’s Drive-In, Benny’s Mexican Food and Pizza, Fat Daddy’s Grill, Home Health Products, McDonald’s (Altus), Rustic Rose, Carl and Carmen’s Creations, Gems, Etc., Lazy C Western Wear, Papa John’s, Smiley’s Tire, Century 7 Beauty Salon, H&H Furniture, Main Express Mart,Rexco and Ye Olde Donut Shop.
