Each year the Altus Fire Department raises money to purchase coats for area children through their Coats for Kids Campaign. Altus Fire Chief Jerry Abbott attended Friday’s Kiwanis Club meeting to explain the program and said that there have been many more requests this year than in the past. Kiwanis members challenge all area civic organizations to make a donation to help the Coats for Kids program. Members of the Altus Kiwanis Club are shown presenting a check to Chief Abbott.
