Bulldogs blow away Elgin 72-44

It was a big night for the Altus High Bulldogs.

Altus traveled to Elgin for the first conference basketball game of the season and walked away with an easy 72-44 victory over the Owls.

The Bulldogs took the lead early on a Malik Knight free throw which made it 5-4. That a 12-2 run that gave Altus a 16-6 margin at the end of the first period.

The Bulldogs never looked back. They kept the pressure on the rest of the game and kept adding to their lead. At one point the Altus had a 33 point lead.

Coach Rick Bull played all 12 players that suited up and ten of them broke into the scoring column.

Kasen Warren led the way with 17 points. Landon Ybarra had 10 points. Them Malik Knight and Nico Maldonado with nine points each, Imashay Shivers six points Thomas Fernandez had five points, Montel Vidot, Kaylyn Knight, Tanner Cross and Diquon Woodhouse four points each.

Altus is 2-0 on the year and will now take a week off before before hosting Weatherford on Tuesday.
