Regular meetings of the Altus Municipal Authority and the Altus City Council are set for Tuesday, Dec. 18.
The AMA agenda includes approval of minutes from the last meeting, purchase orders, and a presentation of the financial report by Finance Director James Wilson for the period ending Nov. 30.
On both agendas, there will also be a review, discussion and vote to acknowledge a briefing on the status of water storage at and management by the Mountain Park Master Conservancy District (MPMCD), as well as authorization for staff to seek professional services through publication of an RFQ (request for qualifications) or RFP (request for proposals) to conduct the necessary study, survey and analysis of the City’s “Round Timber” well field to determine current water availability, potential yield, and quality.
There will also be discussion and a vote to authorize staff to seek bids for contract installation of a new segment of 10” water distribution line west of English Village Nursing Home south of Falcon Road. Estimated cost will range between $30,000 and $40,000.
Also on the agenda is a review, discussion and vote to authorize staff to seek bids to replace water line and damaged concrete at 812 Rosehaven Drive resulting from water main failure at an estimated cost range of $15,000 to $25,000.
In executive session, there will be discussion on matters pertaining to economic development, including the transfer of property, financing, or the creation of a proposal to entice a business to locate within their jurisdiction. There may be a motion or vote relating to this matter.
Immediately following the 6:30 p.m. AMA meeting, the regular meeting of the City Council will begin. Agenda items include approval of purchase orders, estimated payroll, and monthly reports - including acknowledgement and approval of a contract for euthanasia services with Western Prairie Veterinary Hospital.
Due to the drought, there will be discussion and consideration to implement water rationing. The agenda item suggests “odd-even” watering, no watering between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. except for hand watering of trees and shrubs, not allowing water to run into the streets, and no car washing except at commercial car wash facilities.
The council will also consider a recommendation from the Altus/Southwest Area Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to delete the position of Business Development Director from the City of Altus, and to transfer current salary funds of $22,894 for the position of Business Development Director from the City of Altus to the EDC.
Also on the agenda will be revised T-hangar leases at the Altus/Quartz Mountain Regional Airport effective Jan. 1, 2012 to add additional language with no change in rental rates; and an update regarding recreational services to include operational and financial information.
In executive session, the annual evaluation for the Planning and Development Director will be discussed, and in open session take appropriate action.
