Approximately 150 students will participate in Main Street Altus’ Walkin’ on Chalk annual event. This year’s musical theme banners will be displayed in advance. Chalkers can register from 9 to 11 a.m. and have until 1 p.m. to create their side walk chalk masterpieces. Judging will begin at 1 p.m., cash awards will be presented at 2:30 pm. The Walkin’ on Chalk event is held each year in March showcasing the artists in our area. This event has something for everyone, coloring and drawing contest for 1st and 2nd graders; a sidewalk chalk drawing contest for 1st through 12th grade students and a category for college students and adults, as well as the banner contest for high school students.
