Digital ballots for elections being held this year will be produced and distributed by Royal Printing. According to the regular meeting agenda, the County Commisioners sought a printing company to print and deliver digital ballots. They recieved three bids of which two were considered: Mid-West Printing and Royal Printing. The lower bid won the vote. Royal Printing will be providing digital ballots for all elections from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31.
A regular County Commissioner’s meeting was called to order by Chairman Anthony Fixico and Vice Chairman Cary Carrell yesterday, Jan. 14, to consider agenda items. Gayle Allen represented Robin Booker who was unable to attend.
Minutes from the previous regular meeting were approved. There were no reports to approve.
Jackson County Treasurer Renee Howard presented the board with receipts and reports from the State of Oklahoma Tax Commission for county sales tax, county use tax, and cigarette tax collections for the month of November, 2012. The county sales tax collected on $121,130.46, county use tax on $5,599.28, and cigarette tax on $1,612.53. Collections on the cigarette tax has increased 11.29%, or $163.64 from October to November, 2012.
There were no blanket purchases needing approval.
Council considered to transfer funds from resale M&O to resale Capital Outlay as requested by Howard, and approved the transfer amount of $5000.
Approval of Commissioner’s sale by Howard on property acquired at resale was granted. The property was obtained for $500.
Advertising for bids for one two-wheel drive, 1989 or newer, tractor for District #3, and for one new or used SUV, 2008 or newer, two wheel drive, with or without trade-in, for Assessor’s office was also approved.
No action was needed for the Jackson County website.
Due to a time sensitive issue relating to the opening of bids for printing and delivery of digital ballots, the meeting was suspended until 10 a.m.
The County Commissioners’s meeting adjourned following the approval of claims. There was no new business presented.
The next regular meeting will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22.
