Neither the Altus High Lady Bulldogs or the Lawton MacArthur Lady Highlanders had a very good night offensively in their game here on Thursday night.
But MacArthur had a little better night on the offensive end in a 34-23 victory over the Lady Bulldogs.
It was a struggle from the beginning for Altus who hit only two free throws in the first quarter and trailed at the end of the first eight minutes 12-2.
Tisay Woodhouse hit the first field goal with 4:55 remaining in the second period.
But despite the offensive struggles, Altus was still in the game and when Woodhouse hit a fielder with five seconds remaining in the third period, the Lady Bulldogs trailed only 21-16.
But the Lady Highlanders ran off the first nine points of the fourth period to erase any doubt to the outcome of the contest.
Neither team had a player in double figures.
Itiya Knight and Woodhouse paced the Lady Bulldogs with nine points each.
MacArthur was led by Megan Skulski’s eight points.
Altus (4-10) will travel to Cache tonight for a 6:30 p.m. game before hosting Clinton on Tuesday.
