The Cordell and Sayre girls and the Hobart and Snyder boys made their way to Saturday’s finals of the Tri-County Basketball Tournament with semifinal wins Thursday night at the Western Oklahoma State College gym.
The Cordell girls made it look easy with a 70-40 triumph over Mangum.
Kendi Spradlin and Gabbie Parsons combined for 45 points to lead the Lady Blue Devils. Spradlin had 23 points and Parsons 22 points. Mangum was paced by Nicole Means who finished with 16 points.
Sayre moved into the girls finals via a 54-44 win over Snyder
Kassy Easter scored 18 points to lead the Lady Eagles. Marley Anderson paced the Lady Cyclones with 18 points.
The Hobart boys surprised Hollis 56-53.
Hollis battled back from a double digit deficit and when Tyler Bess hit a shot the score was tied 53-53.
The Bearcats got a free throw from Krison Ayers and a pair of charity tosses from Shawn Clark in the final minute to pull the game out.
Snyder ripped Cordell 73-38 in the other boys’s semifinal.
Jagger Jones scored 20 points lead Snyder while Jake Wedel had 18 points for Cordell.
