A late flurry sparked Cache to a 52-47 victory over the Altus High Bulldogs here Tuesday night.

That gave the visitors a sweep as the Cache girls defeated the Lady Bulldogs 54-44 in the first game of the evening.

The Bulldogs trailed by seven points in the fourth quarter but rallied and when Thomas Fernandez hit a shot with 2:27 remaining the game, Altus tied it at 42-42.

However Altus (8-9) did not score the next five times they had the ball. Cache took full advantage of the opportunity and tan off nine straight points to put the game away.

Malik Knight and Imashay Shivers had 11 points each while Nico Maldonado finished with 10 points for the Bulldogs.

In the girls game, Altus got off to a good start scoring eight of the first nine points of the game. Altus managed a 16-13 lead at the end of the first period. However that scored only five points all on free throws in second period while Cache put together 18 points during those eight minutes to take a 31-21 lead at halftime.

Altus (4-13) could draw no closer than seven points after that.

Itiya Knight led Altus with 18 points while Carsyn King finished with 14 points.

The Altus teams will host Elgin on Friday night. The girls game will tip off at 6:30 p.m. while the boys’ game is slated for 8 p.m.
