The Jackson County OSU 4-H Program is offering two livestock showmanship clinics on Feb. 4 and 5 for all county 4-H and FFA youth with livestock projects.
The first clinic, on Feb. 4, will be held at the Altus FFA Barn, and is for beef and sheep projects. The second clinic on Feb. 5 will be held at the Blair FFA Barn and is for swine and goat projects.
Participants do not need to bring their livestock with them, in fact, in terms of swine and cattle, they are asked not to, due to room concerns. Animals will be present for the instructors to use and demonstrate proper showmanship techniques. Instructors for these events will be: Swine – Mr. Shane Curry, Blair FFA Instructor; Goats – Mr. Stacy Randolph, Goat Project 4H Volunteer; Beef – Mr. Bruce Farquhar, Altus FFA Instructor; and Sheep – Mrs. Stacy Riley, 4H Livestock Project Club Leader and FFA Parent.
Pre-registration is not required for these events. If you have any questions regarding the clinics call the Jackson County OSU Extension Office at 580-482-0823.
