Jackson County Commissioners held a regular meeting this morning in the County Courthouse, and opened five bids for one two-wheel drive, 2008 or newer, new or used SUV for the Assessor’s Office. The bids opened were from Wilmes Ford Superstore, Wilmes Pre-owened, Wilmes Chevrolet, Putnam Toyota, and Johnny Roberts. After consideration, and the recommendation of County Assessor Gerald Sherrill, they voted to take action on a bid from Wilmes Ford Superstore, for a 2013 Ford Escape.

Scheduled business on the agenda also included approval of last meetings minutes, reports from the Assessors office for $1,313 and a request for approval of allocation of Alcohol and Beverage tax of Jackson County for $13, 641.10. Officers had no reports.

Blanket purchase orders from the sheriff’s department, health department, general fund, and highway fund were approved. They also approved monthly appropriations for the month of January, and approved report for Jackson County Commissioners Office Adopted Budgets for the Emergency Management Agency for 2012-2013 of $47,610.34.

Commissioners voted for a resolution to dispose of declared surplus items from the County Clerks office to Olustee Public School, surplus items included a gateway computer monitor and computer printer, Deskpro computer, and two HP computers.

Resolution of declared junk items from the County Clerks office was tabled until the next regular meeting.

New business included Vanderbuilt Mortgage and Finance Inc., vs. Cody M. Kenemer, Jackson County Treasurer and Jackson County Commissioners; ACTT Properties, LLC., vs. Leonard Becerra, Jackson County Treasurer and Jackson County Commissioners.
