Dorothy L. Brown, 65, of Altus, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 in Houston, Texas. The family will receive friends at 12 p.m. Saturday at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Robert Bostic officiating. Cremation services, following the Celebration of Life, are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born on March 13, 1947 in Irene, Texas to Ray and Dorothy Z. (King) Robinson. Dorothy grew up in Irene and moved to Washington. She worked as a homemaker and was the owner/operator of the Sage Janitorial Service in Washington for 14 years. She moved to Altus in 2008 and was a member of the St. Johns Baptist Church. She was an avid shopper and loved going to yard sales. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her father; a daughter, Karen Garrett; and a brother, Charlie Robinson.
Survivors include four children, Felicia Richardson and husband Osborn of Altus, John L. Brown of Tacoma, Wash., Raven Brown of Louisiana, and Heather Tardif and husband Paul of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson; her mother, Dorothy Z. Robinson of Washington; a son-in-law, Curtis Garrett of Georgia; two sisters, Jennette McFadden and husband Stephen of Virginia, and Connie Barber of Washington; a brother, Gary Robinson of Washington; and several other family and friends.
Additional parking for services Saturday is available in Kincannons back lot, Best Western to the South and Western Sizzlin to the North.
