Fans of the 900-year-old Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey will be making Whovian history this summer as they set out to film the largest fan made film ever attempted!

With 2013 marking the shows 50th anniversary fans across the United States and abroad are opening Doctor Who Fan Film Chapters in their cities as a way of giving back to the show they have loved for so many years.

“The concept is so simple it’s brilliant,” states Peggy Sue Clay, Altus Chapter Leader. “Wherever you open a chapter that’s where you make your part of the film. In other words, those of us who are fans here in Altus, and the surrounding areas, won’t have to travel to New York or California or even to England to help with this film, we’ll get to make part of it right here in Altus!”

“I think this is going to be a really amazing project for Altus be involved in,” continues Clay. “Altus has never been known for having a (thriving) film industry but why shouldn’t we be? We have some of the most amazingly talented people right here in southwest Oklahoma and no one knows about us. And I’m not just talking about actors, there are also the people who build the sets, the costume mistresses, the lighting and sound techs, the musicians and so on. They are all so wonderfully talented and they should have a chance to share their talents on more than just one or two productions a year.”

“The whole world is waiting for our talents, so let’s give it to them! I honestly believe that Altus can be the best chapter of them all but only if everyone involved will commit to it 100%.”

Clay went on to explain that the film, if finished and edited together, it will be shown at an independent film festival and have some limited theater engagements.

Members of each chapter are responsible for creating their own costumes, props, sets, alien life forms and more which means that each will have to rely heavily on support from their communities in the forms of financial aid, building materials, fabric for costumes, paint, storage facilities, film locations and more. Parts of the script will be allocated to the chapters, which have the skilled labor to produce their part.

Everyone is welcome to join the Altus Chapter and any business owners who would like to help sponsor the project will receive recognition by thein the form of a press release, their business name and logos on both the main Doctor Who Fan Film website and the Altus Chapter’s Doctor Who Fan Film website and they will be listed in the credits of the film. More perks to sponsorship may be found on the Who Chapter’s website.

This is a complete list of areas the Altus Who Chapter will need help in: STAFF MEMBERS: Assistant Chapter Leader, Secretary, Treasurer (experience preferred), and a Fund-raising Coordinator.
