February is heart month and Jackson County Memorial Hospital is offering a Healthy Heart screening on Wednesday, Feb. 27 in the Home Care/Hospice conference room at 1208 E. Tamarack Road. Cost will be $15 cash or check (no cred or debit cards).
To schedule an appointment, call 477-1111. Morning-only appointments start at 6:45 a.m. Appointments are required.
The screening includes a blood test for A1C—for detecting diabetes, glucose, cholesterol with HDL/LDL breakdown and triglycerides. Blood pressure and body mass index will also be conducted. This is a fasting blood test. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before.
