The Altus Chamber of Commerce volunteer board members and Ambassadors will be making calls on prospective members beginning April 7.

"Prospective members of the Altus Chamber many times ask, 'What can the Chamber do for my businesses?'" said Chamber President Holley Urbanski. "All membership dollars in the Altus Chamber of Commerce go towards programs and projects that directly affect the Altus economy. The most beneficial program we can engage in is to increase the number of jobs which will in turn increase the population and increase overall business sales," said Urbanski. "All Altus Chamber of Commerce programs impact the creation of jobs for our community."

Chamber members derive benefits through networking opportunities and being known in chamber circles. The Altus Chamber of Commerce sponsors and works to organize many beneficial programs and is the information source for our region and community.

Urbanski said that the Chamber office takes over 15,000 phone calls from people who are searching for information about the Altus community each year. They also average more than 22 hits per day on their Website, or 8,000 hits per year.

During the year, the Altus Chamber of Commerce sets up 500 meetings and special events. In a given year, the Chamber impacts the lives of 96,970 local citizens in our region and will impact over 300,000 visitors.

The Altus Chamber of Commerce is now located at 300 W. Commerce.
