Getting paperwork ready for the Altus Schools Kindergarten and Pre-K Roundup and Free Shot Clinic are Administrative Center secretaries Reenie Schulz and Susie Young. The event will be held on Tuesday, April 7, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Altus High School Library. All children who wish to enroll in an Altus Pre-K program for the fall should attend the event, as well as kindergarten students who are not currently attending an Altus Schools Pre-K Program. Children eligible for kindergarten will turn five years old by Sept. 1, 2009, while those eligible for pre-kindergarten will turn four years old by Sept. 1, 2009. HeadStart will be available to enroll income-eligible three year-olds in their program, as well. In order to enroll, all children should bring their birth certificates, immunization records, and Social Security numbers (optional). Children not accompanied by a parent must bring a signed parental permission letter to receive immunizations. All programs are full day and will be filled on a first-come, first served basis.
