Linda Kay (Pryor) Burden, 71, of Evergreen, Colo., died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at Life Care Center of Evergreen with her husband Ray at her bedside. She was born in Blair to Jaunita and Roy Pryor, and graduated from Blair High School in 1959. Linda married Ray Bob Burden in 1961 and moved to Denver in August 1961. Their first son Kevin was born in March 1963 followed by a move to Evergreen in August 1965 which has been home since. Shortly thereafter, a second son Brent was born in December 1965. After the boys reached school age, Linda began her own business producing curtains and drapes for homes. This business eventually grew into a full service home interior decorating business, Columbine Interiors of Evergreen, which she founded and managed until her retirement in 2007.
Linda grew up with two older sisters, Sue and Barbara. She and Ray have two sons, Kevin and Brent, and have enjoyed and enriched the lives of five grandsons; Sam, Ben, Thomas, Michael and Jonathan. Two daughter-in-laws, Kathy and Teresa, who she loved dearly, supported her and brought a little balance into the family. Brent and Kathy live with their three sons in Lake Forest, Illinois. Kevin lives with his two sons, Sam and Ben in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Sister Barbara and husband O.W. live in Altus. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Jaunita, and her sister, Sue.
Linda led a very active life enjoying a variety of sports and activities basketball, tennis, racquetball, bicycling, hiking, camping, skiing and as a member of the First Baptist Church she served in various ministry roles throughout her life.
Her spirit, grace, vitality and engaging smile will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of life was held in her memory at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Evergreen.
Graveside service will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 18 at the Blair Cemetery in her home town of Blair.
