Altus man on motorcycle hits deer

A 64-year-old Altus man was injured in a motorcycle accident Tuesday night a mile south of the junction of State Highway 44 and 44A in Kiowa County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Dennis Ray Dodd was taken by Greer County EMS and admitted to Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus with chest injuries.

The report said that Dodd was traveling south on SH 44 on a 2008 BMW motorcycle and hit a deer. The driver was thrown from the cycle and landed in the roadway. The accident happened shortly before 9 p.m.
