The Shortgrass Arts and Humanities Council is looking forward to a wonderful night of guitar music at the Edgar Cruz concert slated for 7 p.m. on Monday, May 4, at the Altus City Auditorium.

Edgar Cruz is dynamite on strings. To see him play is to sit entranced, as he wrings music and rhythm from his guitar, in a fusion that captures the sounds of an entire band while, playing just one instrument. Whether strumming, picking, or drumming, guitarist Edgar Cruz does it all.

Edgar blends classical techniques with modern songs in a crowd-pleasing combo that leaves fans marveling at his virtuosity.

He has 400 songs in his repertoire, including such favorites as Malguena and Bohemian Rhapsody, and embracing genres ranging from Classical to Latin, and from Jazz to Rock.

Tickets can be purchased at the Altus Chamber of Commerce, Altus financial institutions, from SAHC members, and will also be available at the door.

For information, please call 477-1616. This concert is funded in part by a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council.
