Hollis woman Air Evaced after accident

A Hollis woman, Charity Pennington, 18, was Air Evaced to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City Friday after a wreck at the intersection of East County Road 1550 and North County Road 1810 in Harmon County.

According to reports, Pennington was southbound in a 2008 GMC pickup and Jimmy Pendergraft, 53, of Gould, was westbound in a 1993 International 4700 truck when he failed to yield the right of way at an uncontrolled intersection.

Pennington was pinned for approximately 45 minutes before being freed by the Hollis Fire Department Jaws of Life. She was admitted to OU Medical Center in stable condition with head and internal injuries.

Pendergraft was taken by Harmon County EMS to Jackson County Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

A passenger in the Pendergraft vehicle, Jim Clark, 27, of Burns Flat, was taken by Harmon County EMS to Jackson County Memorial Hospital where he was also treated and released.

Seatbelts were equipped in both vehicles and were in use by both the drivers.
