New doctor coming to Altus

The Board of Trustees, JCMH Authority, met in regular session, Monday where it was reported that the outreach clinics contributed a total of 203 admissions and 55 outpatient surgeries to JCMH for the month of April.

Bill Wilson reported on physician recruitment. Dr. Sherry Roles, Internal Medicine physician, will be here in June for a second interview. Brian Knight, Nicole Nelson and Mark Waterman, CRNAs, have all signed contracts and will be joining JCMH. Dr. Felicitas, Family Practice, will be joining JCMH in August.

Fixed Assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded Depreciation were approved in the amount of $65,975.39.

Mr. King reported that the insurance company has issued JCMH a check for damage to the emergency generator. FEMA will complete the settlement and issue a final check. The board approved the sale of the damaged generator for salvage at $10,000 or more.

King reviewed the highlights from the Performance Improvement Council meeting that was held on May 4.

The board approved the annual review of the Performance Improvement Plan and the Patient Safety Plan.

The board approved the following slate of officers to serve for the 2009-2010 term, as recommended by the nominating committee: Corwin Petzold, Chairman; Lionel Cross, Vice-Chairman; and Jerry Coakley, Secretary/Treasurer.

Dr. Zakhary reported from the Executive Medical Staff meeting that was held on May 11. The following were proposed to the Board for approval:

b. Lawrence R. Kincheloe, MD – OB/GYN, Courtesy Staff

c. Mark V. Vadney, CRNA – Affiliate Staff

3. Request for Additional Privileges:

a. M. George Zakhary, MD – InterStim Therapy

4. Proposed Rules & Regulations Update:

a. General Rules of Surgical Care

All requests were approved as presented.

Financials for the month of April ended with a net income $340,282 and year to date net income of $1,835,822.

Wilson reported in the Management Report that JCMH was selected as the winner of the George Kaiser Family Foundation Finalist Award for Health Services – Large from the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits and received $5,000. JCMH was nominated for this award for its part in the development of Southwest Oklahoma Cancer Centers.
