Everett Dale Welch, 52, of Altus, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at English Village Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 8, at Kincannon Funeral Home with the Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating.

Everett Dale Welch was born on Oct. 6, 1956, to Lewis Eugene and Susie Belle (Miller) Welch in Altus. He attended Altus Public Schools. On Jan. 4, 1986, he married Shelly Soles in Altus. Everett worked at Altus Sonic Drive-In for many years as a cook, the Republic Gypsum in Duke, and in the scrap metal business before becoming ill. He loved spending time with his family, his friends, and his pets. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Sue Welch; one brother, Dwain Welch; one sister and a brother-in-law, Kay and Jerry Duke.

He is survived by his wife Shelly of the home; a very good friend, Vernon Crim; one son, Dale Whitehead; two brothers, Robert Miller and wife Peggy, and David E. Welch and wife Shirley; one sister, LaDonna Adams and husband Richard, all of Altus; one sister-in-law, Brenda Welch of Devol; a special niece, Susie Richhart of Altus; and a host of family and friends.
