Clint Abernathy of Altus has been declared elected to a three year term on the Jackson County Conservation District Board of Directors by the Oklahoma Conservation Commission, according to Mike Thralls, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Conservation Commission.

Abernathy was the only person who filed a Notification and Declaration of Candidacy for this position.

The Jackson County Conservation District is the only local unit of government responsible for the conservation, restoration and development of Oklahoma’s renewable natural resources. Assistance from the District is available to individual landowners, groups, cities, and towns concerned about preventing soil erosion and water pollution, upgrading wildlife and recreational areas, and preserving nature’s beauty. Abernathy is one of five members who serve on the Board of Directors. The District office is located in Altus.
