Members of the Altus Municipal Trust Authority (MTA) will vote to authorize its legal counsel to file a legal action against Quartz Mountain Aerospace, Inc. to seek payment of a $200,000 promissory note during a regular meeting on Tuesday in Council Chambers.

An executive session is scheduled for confidential communications between the Trustees and its legal counsel relating to the pending action of a counterclaim filed in regards to the pending action of First National Bank in Altus, Plaintiff vs. QMA, Inc., First State Bank of Altus, Oklahoma Industrial Finance Authority, and Universal Funding Corporation, Defendants.

The board will vote in open session to hire Charles E. Geister, III, of Hartzog Conger Cason & Neville as special counsel to assist the Authority counsel.

Immediately following the Municipal Trust meeting, the City Council will convene in a regular meeting to discuss awarding a contract for construction of the City’s new municipal complex to Timberlake Construction Company of Oklahoma City as the lowest and best bid and authorize the Mayor to sign the contract.

Other agenda items to be discussed include approving the renewal of the Excess Worker’s Compensation Agreement with Midwest Employers Casualty Company, designating the places and times within the City in which fireworks may be discharged on July 4 as the Public Fireworks Display at the City Reservoir, and authorizing staff to publish Request for Proposal (RFP) for Professional Engineering Services for the CDBG Program for a water line replacement project.
