Man dies in motorcycle accident near Olustee

Ronald Wilson, 46, of Clayton, N.M., died of massive head and trunk injuries in a motorcycle accident north of Olustee Sunday.

According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Wilson was driving a 1989 Harley Davidson motorcycle on State Highway 6 late Sunday afternoon 1 1/2 miles north of Olustee when the accident occurred.

Wilson was south bound when he departed the right side of the roadway for an unknown reason. He traveled about 150 feet before striking a ditch. He was thrown from the cycle about 10 feet.

He died at the scene and was transported to Lowell Tims Funeral Home by Jackson County EMS.

The accident was investigated by Trooper Trinity Simmons of the Kiowa County detachment of Troop M, and was assisted by Troopers Steve Pothorst, Scotty Beamon, Joshua Tinsley, Michael Jewell, Chris Sherman and Lt. Pogue, as well as by the Jackson County Sheriff's department, Olustee Fire Department and the Jackson County EMS.
