The board approved the minutes from the June 22, 2009 Board of Trustees meeting.
Representatives from Charles Schwab presented the annual Savings and Investment Plan report for 2008 and the Investment Review of funds for the first quarter of 2009. The Investment Review Committee recommended making no changes to the plan. The total plan assets as of December 31 were $36 million with a 74% employee participation rate.
Mrs. Ford reported that the outreach clinics had a good month with a total of 209 admissions and 54 outpatient surgeries that were contributed to JCMH for the month of June.
Bill Wilson reported on physician recruitment activity. Dr. Patrick Felicitas, Family Practice, will join JCMH August 1. Dr. Sherry Roles, Internal Medicine physician, will join JCMH in October. Dr. Rebecca Sager, Pathologist, will begin working at JCMH August 10. Continuing recruitment efforts for OB/GYNs and Pediatricians.
Fixed Assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded Depreciation were approved in the amount of $745,454.56.
The board approved the Capital Expenditure Plan for JCMH Home Care as presented by Mrs. Ford.
Mr. Graham reviewed the second quarter safety report including fire drills conducted, fire system inspection, new employee orientation and work related injuries.
Mrs. Bolding reviewed the first quarter patient safety report to include focus areas for the National Patient Safety Goals. One focus area for Goal #2 is hand-off communication. This item has been selected for Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
The board approved the Organizational Plan for Patient Care and the Utilization Review Plan as presented.
Mr. Petzold, Chairman of the Board, appointed Committee Members for the 2009 – 2011 term.
Dr. Katseres, Chief of Staff, reported from the JCMH Medical Staff Executive Committee meeting that was held on July 13. The Board approved requests for privileges, reappointments and changes to the JCMH Rules and Regulations regarding Pre Op Pregnancy Tests.
Mrs. Davison reported financials for the month of June ended with a net loss of $48,739 and a year to date net income of $1,366,313.
Mr. Wilson reported that the board members for Southwest Oklahoma Cancer Centers are making final decisions on interim financing. The Altus facility continues to see more patients and currently has 190 active patients.
The new Medical Office Building is nearing completion. The Women’s Health Associates will be moving into the new building within the next few weeks. The Pediatric Clinic will move shortly afterwards.
JCMH is celebrating its 60th year anniversary and is tentatively planning an open house for October 1.
