City Council meeting set for Tuesday

The Altus City Council meet for their regular meeting Tuesday beginning with the Municipal Trust Authority at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers.

MTA agenda items include approving purchase orders, a resolution regarding the Investment Policy for the City and the Altus Municipal Authority, items regarding the purchase of a used sideloader trash truck, transformer repairs, a red flag identity theft policy resolution, landfill items, the waterline replacement project, fire hydrants, and recommendations from the traffic signal committee.

In regular session, which will immediately follow the MTA meeting, the mayor will recognize the Employee of the Quarter for April, May and June, a promotion pinning by Police Chief Mike Patterson for Derek Vassar, Brad Edmonds and David Doughty to the rank of Sergeant will be held, followed by presentation of new officers Kimothy Smith and Kasey Mills.

Other agenda items include the new budget, and sales tax items that include expenses for the new Altus City hall Complex.

Also on the agenda are items that involve investment policies, equipment items, the return of Strategic Military Planning Commission Grant funds, and taser purchases for the Altus Police Department.

Executive session items will include the status of pending matters involving the sale of a hangar, the annual evaluation of the Planning Director, the Parks & Recreation Director, and Fire Chief.
