Under Superintendent’s Reports and Comments, the agenda includes recognizing students with artwork in the school calendar, district enrollment and district accreditation.
As part of the consent agenda, items will include Altus Municipal Golf Course contracts, Extended Day Care at Rivers, Roosevelt, Sunset, Washington, Will Rogers and Altus Intermediate School, and an amendment to the SoonerCare provider agreement.
Other agenda items include retirements and resignations, reassignments, and the proposed substitutes/time sheet employees/ volunteers/extra duty assignments.
The proposed executive session will be to discuss suggested new hires, after which the Board, in open session, will consider the employment of new hires to include certified personnel and/or non-certified personnel on a temporary contract
The Board will also consider adopting, for school year 2009-2010, a school year which shall consist of not less than one thousand eighty (1,080) hours of classroom instruction. Not more than thirty (30) of the one thousand eighty (1,080) hours shall be used for professional meetings. In addition, parent-teacher conferences may be held during the school day and counted as classroom instruction for no more than six (6) of the one thousand eighty (1,080) hours per semester, for a total of twelve (12) of the one thousand (1,080) hours per school year.
The purchase or lease of a 2010 pickup for the FFA Department will also be considered, as well as declaring computers and computer related items as surplus and establish a method of allowing for the sale of the surplus items.
