An abduction and attempted rape of a 13-year-old male was reported Sunday in Altus.

According to reports, the incident happened at 1 a.m. when the teen was walking to a nearby friends house to spend the night. That is when the suspect, described as a white male, about 53 years of age, got the boy into the back seat of a car at the intersection of Sutherland and Navajo.

Mike Turner of the Altus Police Department said that the man drove around town for about an hour with the boy in the back seat, finally stopping at an area near the hospital.

He then got into the back seat with the boy where he tried to sexually assault him. After a struggle, the boy was able to get away and ran to the hospital where the staff assisted him.

The boy was treated for minor injuries.

The suspect is said to be 5'10" tall, with brown and grey hair balding on top. He had a mustache and goatee under the lip, brown eyes, and was wearing a black long sleeve pull over, jeans and black gloves. He was driving a tan 4-door Dodge Stratus with tan interior and Oklahoma tags.

If you have any information, contact the Altus Police Department at 482-4121, or any law enforcement agency, regarding case 9-0103713. Altus Police contacts: Det. Uptergrove and Det. Perkins.
