JCMH and Home Care/Hospice expected to receive full accreditation from Joint Commission

It was announced at this week’s meeting of the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees meeting that the Joint Commission performed their triennial unannounced survey, and the results were outstanding. JCMH and Home Care/Hospice are expected to receive full accreditation from The Joint Commission in the final report.

Also during the meeting, Dr. June Knight took the oath of office upon her appointment to the Board.

Bonnie McAskill and representatives from 3rd Degree Advertising presented JCMH’s new marketing brand and strategy to the board.

Michelle Ford reported the outreach clinics had a busy month with a total of 209 admissions and 46 outpatient surgeries that were contributed to JCMH for the month of July.

William Wilson reported on physician recruitment activity. Dr. Sherry Roles, Internal Medicine, will join JCMH in mid October and will be located at the North Main Clinic. Dr. Tracy Burton, OB/GYN, signed a contract to join JCMH in September 2010. Continuing negotiations with another OB/GYN and having conversations with several Pediatricians.

Fixed assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded Depreciation were approved in the amount of $84,046.51.

The board approved an amendment to the 401k plan as presented by Tom Graham.

The board approved the annual review of the Ethical Issues of Care Policy with no changes as presented by Jim King.

The board approved the conflict of interest statement determining there were no conflicts disclosed for the period ending June 30, 2009.

The board approved a land mortgage to Arvest Bank for the land on which the Cancer Center is located to enable Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma to satisfy the terms of their financing agreement with Arvest Bank.

Dale Shelton was appointed to serve as a board member on the Southwest Oklahoma Cancer Center Board.

Ricky Crouch was appointed to serve as Vice President for the 2009 – 2011 term.

The board approved a resolution to recognize Dr. Jerry Coakley for his 12 years of service on the JCMH Board of Trustees.

Jim King reported the highlights from the Performance Improvement meeting that was held on Aug. 3.

Dr. Katseres, Chief of Staff, reported from the JCMH Medical Staff Executive Committee meeting that was held on Aug. 10. The Board approved the following recommendations:

1. Credentials Committee:

a. Initial Appointment

b. Reappointment

c. FPPE/OPPE Policy and Templates

William Wilson presented the financials for the month of July, which resulted in a net loss of $108,959.
