Jackson County 4-H members, parents, leaders and supporters are looking forward to the annual First National Bank 4-H Honor Banquet, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 29, at 6 p.m. in the WOSC Student Center, Altus.

The First National Bank of Altus, by recommendation of Board Chairman Hatton McMahan and Bank President Philip McMahan, will sponsor the banquet by paying the meal expense for members, special guests, the facility rent and custodian fees. Hatton and Philip McMahon met recently with the county council president Debra Kime to work on the banquet arrangements.

About 200 attendees are expected to attend the program which will highlight the 2008-09 4-H year in Jackson County. The 4-H members, leaders and supporters will be recognized for their achievements, volunteering and contributions to the 4-H program.

Council President Debra Kime of Altus 4-H will serve as master of ceremonies.

The theme of the banquet will be “Oklahoma 4-H Centennial Road Trip”. The 4-H clovers will decorate the WOSC Student Center.

The top outstanding members from each club will be recognized. All members who completed a participation form will receive their award according to their strong project areas. The naming of the County Hall of Fame awards sponsored by the National Bank of Commerce will climax the program.

Karla Moore and Kris Kelly of the Silver Spurs 4-H Horse Club have served as the banquet committee chairs. They request all local groups be represented at set-up on Friday at 5 p.m. in the WOSC Student Center.
