First Baptist Church of Altus along with the FBC Spanish Ministry under the leadership of Rev. Carlos Moreno invites adults and children of all ages to a festive evening of celebration on Sunday, Aug. 30 beginning at 5 p.m. in the Altus Community Center located on Falcon Rd.

Free hot dogs, nachos and drinks will be served. Adults, age 18 years or older, can register to win one of several door prizes including the grand give away of a late-model car. Drawing for prizes will be at the close of the celebration around 7 p.m. (must be present to win).

Special guest will be Ignacio Galindo, best known by his stage name Nacho Galindo, formerly with the popular Mexican group ‘Primavera’.

Nacho Galindo was born on March 1, 1959. In 1976, he joined Conjunto Primavera with his brother Gustavo Galindo, his cousin Adan Huerta, Juan Dominguez & Telesforo Saenz. He spent 12 years with the band in which they released 11 albums. On June 28, 1986 he attended a Christian service, in which he "accepted Jesus into his heart". On March 19, 1989 he left the band telling them that "God had called him," since his life was complicated while in the band because of drugs and alcohol. From then, he finished his career in the music industry.

On 1991, he decided to start recording music again, with the difference that he wrote Christian lyrics, and that his music was only to influence people in a positive way. He now sings, and testifies only about God. Don’t miss this exciting night of hearing Nacho Galindo’s testimony in song.

To close the great evening will be Dr. Jeff Moore, pastor of First Baptist Church of Altus. The Rev. Carlos Moreno, pastor of the FBC Hispanic Church will serve as translator.

Invite friends, family members, neighbors or co-workers to attend this inspirational evening that could change your life and others forever.

The festival is free and open to everyone.
