Altus City Council members will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 1 in council chambers, meeting first as the Municipal Trust Authority. MTA items will include a presentation and update of OMPA activities, a request for qualifications for technical and operational evaluation of the water plant, a new annual contract with Altus AFB for disposal of their trash to the landfill, maintenance and repair material purchases, awarding of a bid for an aerial service truck and a trade out of cooper controllers for the Tamarack & Park Lane substation.
The regular meeting of the City Council will begin immediately following the MTA meeting, with agenda items including the approval of purchase orders, acknowledgement of monthly reports and approving a change order to the construction contract for the Altus Municipal Complex in an amount not to exceed $49,480 and grant two weeks additional time.
Also on the agenda is a recommendation to approve a zoning change, accept the final plat of the Navajoe Ridge Addition Part I, and a travel item for city employees.
Executive session items include the consideration and vote to pay or deny claims in the amount of $42,281.22 filed by Bar-S for production loss due to a water main break and an electrical outage; and a claim in the amount of $677.69 filed by Barbara Privett for damages to air conditioners and electrical wiring due to a transformer problem and low voltage. Other executive session items the discussion of the annual evaluation for the Superintendent of Sanitation, Kenny Combs.
