Thelma Mae Haney, 70, of Altus, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, September 5 at the Kincannon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Lyles officiating.

Thelma was born to Claude E. and Dicy Mae (Sanders) Pruitt on May 15, 1939, in Reed. She attended and graduated from Lazbuddie, Texas High School in 1957.

She married Thomas J. Haney in Lubbock, Texas on June 28, 1968. She was of the Baptist faith. Thelma worked as a cook at various cafes and retired in 2000. She enjoyed cooking, spending her time doing crossword puzzles and embroidery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three brothers, Ed, Bob and Bruce Pruitt.

Thelma is survived by two daughters, Donna Stone of Altus, and Kay Stone of Kiln, Miss.; one son, Corky Stone and wife Sonya of Carriere, Miss.; one sister, Joann Miller of Stamford, Texas; three brothers, Jasper Pruitt and wife Wanda of Altus, George Pruitt and wife LaWanda of Picayune, Miss., Johnny Pruitt of Florida; three sisters-in-law, Carol Pruitt of Morton, Texas, Marilyn Pruitt of Goodland, Kan., and Donita Cato of Vernon, Texas; six grandchildren, Konni Anderson and husband Richie of Elk City, Jana Smith and husband Josh of Altus, Rocky Minor of Altus, Thomas Graves and wife Mandy of Kiln, Miss., Cody Stone of Carriere, Miss., and Nikki Stone of Carriere, Miss.; six great-grandchildren, Tailor, Trinity, Raynie, Haydon, Taden and Dalynn; and numerous nieces and nephews including Gay Stewart and husband Greg of Altus, Gerry Pruitt and wife Brenda of Altus, and Betty Ann Heskett and husband Ken of Hobart.
