LaPlante to speak at Republican Women’s meeting

The Southwest Oklahoma Republican Women will host their Annual Membership Drive at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Farm Bureau of Altus. Angie LaPlante will be the speaker.

LaPlante is the current OK GOP Vice-Chairman, 1st Vice-President/Membership Chair for Heartland Republican Women, 1st Vice-President/Membership Chair for the Oklahoma Federation of Republican Women, and Finance Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America-Last Frontier Council, Eagle District. Angie serves on the Dewey Bartlett foundation Committee; State & Executive Committees for the GOP State Party and Oklahoma 5th Congressional District Chairman 2007-2009.

LaPlante holds a full-time position for the Oklahoma House of Representatives as the assistant to State Representative Ken Miller-Oklahoma Appropriations and Budget Chairman since he was first elected in 2004. She and her family are active members at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond. She is a nationally certified personal trainer, fitness counselor and multi fitness instructor. Has a degree in Kinesiology, a degree in business administration with an emphasis in aviation management and an emphasis in telecommunications and is a candidate for her masters in public administration. Angie was born and raised in San Diego, California. Her father served in the US Navy for 30 years. She has been married for 24 years to Joel (a retired Air Force pilot-currently working for the FAA) and has a son Chris who is serving in the Air Force Reserves at Tinker AFB and is a full-time student at UCO.
