Man arrested in DUI accident in front of City Park

Johnny Skylar Ornelas, 18, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence at the scene of this accident Monday night at approximately 9:35 p.m. According to reports, Ornelas was east bound on Commerce in a Dodge Neon when he turned south onto Park Avenue, running the stop sign, going left of center, and hitting another vehicle. Ornelas hit Timothy Byrd who was driving the Chevy pickup. Although Ornelas and a passenger complained of injuries, they both refused treatment. Byrd was not injured in the accident.
