Property purchase near AAFB on Council agenda

Several items of interest will be on Tuesday nights regular meeting of the Altus City Council including amending the budget by $450,000 for a Strategic Military Planning Grant to purchase property around Altus Air Force Base, and drafting a new policy that would allow City employees to run for public office without having to resign prior to being elected.

Council members will meet first as the Municipal Trust Authority at 6:30 p.m., followed by the regular meeting other Altus City Council following.

MTA items include acknowledgement of the execution by the MTA and the City of the “Municipal Services Agreement for Electric Service at AAFB” with AETC Housing LP (formerly GMH).

The City Administrator’s annual contract will be discussed in executive session.
