Charity begins at home. The local Family Medical Equipment and Supplies is sponsoring a local canned food drive in correlation with Operation Care, directed by Alicia Giron. Operation CARE delivered over 180 food baskets last thanksgiving and plans to deliver over 250 this year, each basket providing enough food for three meals for families who received them.

Now through Nov. 13, Family Medical and The Salvation Army of Altus, will continually provides food and resources for the community along with weekly meals on Tuesday and Thursday. There will also be a Thanksgiving dinner and Christmas Food Baskets given this holiday season.

If you would like to help feed those in need in the community, bring your canned goods or monetary donations by Family Medical at 100 South Park Lane between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

For every 2 canned goods, or every $5 donation, you will earn an entry into a drawing for a $100 gift certificate to United Supermarkets. In addition, Family Medical will match up to $500 in donations.

Many adults and children will benefit from your generosity.
