Frederick to hold Cotton Festival and Chili Cook Off

Frederick Chamber’s Cotton Festival and Chili Cook Off will be held on Nov. 7, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Pioneer Townsite Museum and the Tillman County Courthouse Square. Come learn about 1920s and modern cotton farming. Activities will include Pioneer games for children cotton crafts, cake walk, bingo, refreshments, Farm Equipment, Tractor and educational displays, door prizes, live entertainment, and tours of the Red River Cotton Gin and the Oklahoma Cotton Cooperative Association Cotton Texoma Warehouse. The tours are free, and transportation will be provided.

In addition, the 2nd annual cotton-picking chili cook-off will take place. Also, the 2nd annual Little Miss Cotton Boll and Maid of Cotton! Also that day: City Wide Garage Sale. The usual fee for a garage sale will be waived, so take advantage of this opportunity. Also non-food vendors are being sought for the Cotton Festival. Spaces will be 10 X 10. Also that night, the Historical Ramona Theater Grand Re-Opening "Night on Broadway" will be held with the show beginning at 7 p.m. It will feature numerous solos, ensembles and dance numbers from Broadway hits. Admission to show and cookie and punch reception afterward will be $7.50 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Ticket sales for this 'not-to-be-missed' show will begin Oct. 27 at Banc First, K.C's in Frederick or by calling 580- 335-5689.
