JCMH showing year-to-date loss

During Monday’s regular Board of Trustees meeting, it was reported by Mrs. Davidson during the Financials Report for the month of September that the month ended with a net income of $162,717, but that there was a year-to-date net loss of $123,353.

Mrs. Ford reported the outreach clinics had a good month with a total of 191 admissions and 55 outpatient surgeries contributed to JCMH for the month of September. Dr. Patrick Felicitas, Family Practice Physician and Dr. Sherry Roles, Internal Medicine Physician have joined JCMH and are seeing patients at the North Main Family Medical Clinic.

Wilson reported on physician recruitment activity. Dr. Viyuoh, OB/GYN, returned his signed contract and will join JCMH in January 2010. Dr. Almonajed, Pediatrician, has left the Pediatric Clinic; therefore, we are focusing recruitment efforts on Pediatricians.

Fixed Assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded Depreciation were approved in the amount of $100,775.60.

Mr. King presented the third quarter safety report including the number of fire drills conducted, fire system inspection, new employee orientation and work related injuries.

Mr. King reported from the Performance Improvement Committee meeting that was held on October 5.

The board approved a resolution authorizing Mr. Wilson, President/CEO and members of the JCMH Trust Authority to be signors for the Cancer Center land mortgage to Arvest Bank.

Dr. Richard Katseres reported from the JCMH Medical Staff Executive Committee meeting that was held on October 12. The Board approved the following recommendations:

1. Initial Appointments:

a. Sherry Roles, DO – Internal Medicine, Active Staff

b. Wyatt-Dean Pickering, DO – Emergency Medicine, Courtesy Staff

c. Randall Chapman, MD – Emergency Medicine, Courtesy Staff

d. Nicole Nelson, CRNA – Anesthesia, Affiliate Staff

e. Vickey Simmons, CRNA – Anesthesia, Affiliate Staff

f. Katherine Ferguson, CRNA – Anesthesia, Affiliate Staff

4. Reappointments:

a. Willard Perez, MD – Internal Medicine, Active Staff

b. Bryan Menges, DO – Emergency Medicine, Courtesy Staff

The closing for the financing of the Cancer Centers should be ready within the next few weeks and funds will be distributed back to the three hospitals. Volumes at the cancer center are growing with an average of 12 radiation patients here in Altus. A new Oncologist will join the Cancer Centers in 2010.
