Baby transported to OKC with skull fracture; police suspect child abuse

EMS was called to Altus Air Force Base Wednesday afternoon to a residence where a baby was injured.

According to reports, the 4-month-old was taken to Jackson County Memorial Hospital with a skull fracture.

The child was later transported to the Presbyterian hospital in Oklahoma City.

Mike Turner of the Altus Police Department said the case is being investigated as a child abuse case.

Turner said that an Altus Police Detective and an agent from Altus Air Force Base were going to Oklahoma City today to talk to medical personnel and family members.

Details on the child’s condition were not known at press time.
