“Grandmother Minnie’s Flying Pinwheel” top was pieced and donated by Mrs. Homer Raley of Elmer. One of three she has donated to the Quilting Bee and Country Kitchen, it is constructed in soft greens and white and is a double size. This quilt will be sold through the purchase of tickets.
Offered by sealed bid is “Les Etoiles et Fleurs,” (Stars and Flowers). With a Country French flavor, it is pieced in soft yellows and French blues with a flowers-within-stars pattern. The quilting stitches are sewn in a running scroll design. It was pieced by the Quilting Bee.
Bids for “Les Etoiles et Fleurs” will be accepted at the event. The winners of each quilt will be announced at the conclusion of the bazaar.
Also offered are three baby quilts. One is titled “Miss Bunny Bunkins.” It is pieced in pink gingham and pink and white chenille blocks. The flannel lining is a print of pink flowers and the binding is pink satin ribbon.
“Little Ducky Duck” features soft yellow flannel, both top and lining. It is bordered in ivory satin.
“Master Boy Blue” is constructed with blocks of blue and white chenille with a light blue flannel lining and a border of light blue satin.
The public is invited to the event. Proceeds benefit mission projects of United Methodist Women.
