Starting Nov. 20 you will be seeing the familiar Salvation Army Red Kettle. Volunteers will work at the different locations throughout Altus.

"We hope to raise more than $31,000 through this year's campaign," said Major Ron Mott of the local Salvation Army. "We need more help than ever this year."

Mott continued by saying, ”With the economy in the shape it is in, it will be difficult for two reasons: one, we have more people needing assistance than every before, and two, with the tough economy its more difficult for people to dig deep and give when they are concerned about their own family budget.”

Along with donations The Salvation Army needs volunteers to help man the kettles. If interested, call Gary Beach at 482-7516 to sign up.
