Police Chief Mike Patterson is warning citizens to be wary of traveling, out-of-town companies offering discounted asphalt work.

“Just be sure of who you are dealing with and that all deals and stipulations are in writing,” Patterson said. “This should include all work to be performed and the exact amount to be charged,” he added.

Patterson explained that many times traveling roofing/asphalt workers will offer a service at a discounted price, then try to charge for extra work they do.

Patterson said that reports of such companies are currently working the Altus area.
