Thursday’s arrest of John Brickett, 20, for the burglary to a vehicle, has lead to three other arrests.

According to reports, an alert citizen saw someone burglarizing his vehicle on Cherokee Strip around 4 a.m. Thursday, and ID’d Brickett as the culprit who was arrested immediately. Information from the arrest lead to acquiring a search warrant for a house at 620 W. Martha at which hundreds of dollars worth of stolen items, including electronics, were recovered.

Bennett Ephriam Mathis, 24, who is also thought to be involved in the burglaries, was arrested at the Martha location on charges of burglary in the second degree and concealing stolen property.

Two Frederick teens were later arrested by Tillman County Sheriff’s Department, and even more stolen property was recovered.

The four suspects arrested Thursday are thought to be connected to the 10 to 15 vehicle burglaries in recent weeks.
