The 11th Annual Coats for Kids Program sponsored by the Altus Fire Department is well under way, but Fire Chief J.R. Wheeler said that donations to meet the Dec. 18 deadline for the vast needs in Jackson County are falling short.

Please join Altus Fire/Rescue Department & Salvation Army to ensure that children in Southwest Oklahoma have the life-saving gift of warmth this season. Monetary donations are accepted at 115 N. Spurgeon or call 481-2231 for more information.

Thanks to the generosity of the FlightSafety employees, $165 was donated to the Altus Fire Department for the "Coats for Kids" program.  The fire department is able to give coats to deserving local children through the kindness of local individuals, groups, organizations and businesses.
