JCMH employee merit increases OK’d by Trustees

Dr. Cross welcomed Mr. Richard Pope as the new Vice President of Human Resources at the regular meeting of the Jackson County Memorial Hospital’s Board of Trustees this week.

Minutes were approved from the November 23, 2009 meeting.

Mrs. Ford reported that the outreach clinics had a total of 198 admissions and 44 outpatient procedures that were contributed to JCMH during the month of November.

Mr. Wilson reported on physician recruitment activity. Recruitment efforts are focused mostly on Pediatricians.

Fixed Assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded Depreciation were approved in the amount of $59,439.93.

Ms. Bolding presented the quarterly Patient Safety Report based on the 2009 National Patient Safety Goals.

Mr. King reported from the Performance Improvement Council meeting that was held on Dec. 7.

The board disapproved the additional matching funds for the employee 401k plan for fiscal year 2009, but approved the employee merit increases with an estimated salary budget impact of 2%. The increases will be effective in January 2010.

Financials for the month of November ended with a net loss of $96,343 and year-to-date net loss of $211,576.

The short-term financing for the Cancer Center is complete and JCMH received the funds from SWOCC LLC. The Cancer Center facility in Lawton is complete and should be 100% operational by the end of January.

JCMH received a certificate of occupancy for the renovated Medical Office Building located at 201 ? South Park Lane. The North Main Family Medical Clinic will move into this location and will start seeing patients there on Jan. 4, 2010.

Mr. Wilson announced that Dr. Nicholas Viyuoh, OB/GYN, will join Women’s Health Associates in February.
