Danny Leon Pierce, 62, of Hollis, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, in Amarillo, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Hollis with Earl Siegrist officiating. Interment will follow at McKnight Cemetery in Harmon County.

Danny was born Nov. 22, 1947, to R G (Gar) and Lula Viola (Tice) Pierce in Hollis. Danny lived his entire life in Hollis where he worked as an automotive mechanic. He loved building and racing stock cars, watching OU Sooners football, watching NASCAR, and fishing. Danny loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and his many friends.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

Danny is survived by one son, John Darland of Hollis; three daughters, Kimberly Bell and her husband James of San Antonio, Texas, Tammy Acosta and her husband Bruno of Amarillo, and Danielle Pantoja and her husband Louie of Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren, Christorpher, Bradon, Jace, and Blayze Pearson, Brandon and London Bell, Mason and Austin Sampier, and Kamila, Blake, Chelsea, Jolie, and Baby Pantoja; two sisters, Helen Robinson and Linda Pierce, both of Pampa, Texas; two brothers, Gary Pierce of Hollis, and Tex Pierce of Keller, Texas; and one half brother, R G Pierce of Pottsboro, Texas.

Mr. Pierce was preceded in death by his parents, RG (Gar) Pierce and Lula Viola Pierce; one sister, JoAnn Tarpley; one brother, Rex Pierce; and one brother-in-law, Bob Tarpley.
